HR Stuff
Work/Life Balance: I will not work on positions that require full-time onsite work. Remote telework is mandatory for me to work for your organization. It is no longer practical for me to consider positions which require 1-2 hours commuting to an office in the DC/Baltimore Metropolitan Area, just to do work or conduct meetings that can be done remotely. I can travel (pre-paid by company and not at my expense) to Datacenter locations throughout the United States or Internationally if necessary with at least 30 days of advanced notice. Welcome to the modern digital era.
Religious Observation: Friday's are a Sabbath for me. I attend religious services every single Friday. If that is a deal breaker for you. I am not a good fit for your organization, agency, or company. Other Well Known Sabbath Days:
Saturday's (Jewish)
Sunday's (Christian)
Platforms: My primary skillset is based on VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Linux (.RPM or .DEB). While I do have experience, exposure and have worked on Microsoft Azure for years and have used the platform extensively, my primary expertise and preferences are in AWS and GCP. No one can do it all. It's just not realistic.
Work Environment: I have zero tolerance for racist, bigoted, political, or religiously intolerant work environments. If your work environment permits any of these social problems. I cannot work for your organization. This includes overly aggressive and disrespectful management and senior executive staff. Life is just too short to work with monsters and insane people who lack social skills. Life is not all about money.
Great appreciation for people who understand it's good to just be a good human being
Embracing Change is inevitable (nothing ever stays the same in Tech)
Taking Reasonable and Measurable Risks Goes with Life
Leadership Style: My style of leading people is Coaching and Transformational. Feel free to click the link to look them up. I have worked with leaders who grind people to dust, stress staff out, and have no mercy on fellow human beings. I will not and cannot be like that. It is important to build teams that last and have fun in some of my meetings where it is appropriate. Someone who can laugh and be themselves easily. I prefer not to work with people who are insane, self-centered, and arrogant bastards who are just mean and evil.
Life: If you can't laugh until your face hurts sometimes at a good joke, comedy or good roast. You need a vacation...
Philosophy: "If you cannot be kind to others, do not expect kindness to come to you!" - Bill Bennett, Sr.
